Kansas Native Plant Society visited Galena's Schermerhorn Park and Nature Center
A group of about seventy people from all over the state of Kansas came to the park to view the fall wildflowers and other plants.  They were impressed with the wide diversity of plants that we have in this area.  Many had never been to Galena or the park before and were impressed with all that the Nature Center and park has to offer. One visitor commented,  "What a wonderful place! I am coming back and bringing my  grand children."
There were guided tours though out the park so that people could get a close view, smell and even taste of some of our native plants.  Many took photos to be published in the club newsletter, flower guide books,  and on the web.
